Pomegranate Books will be hosting an event to celebrate The Bottle Chapel at Airlie Gardens, the tribute to Minnie Evans and Airlie Gardens published by the Publishing Lab at UNCW. The book tells the story of Evans, the gatekeeper at Airlie Gardens from 1949 to 1974 and one of America’s most important visionary artists. A narrative based on interviews from all eight Bottle Chapel artists, the book contains over fifty full-color photographs of the Gardens. Virginia Wright-Frierson, the designer and builder of the installation, will be at the event answering questions and signing books. Please join us as we celebrate one of Wilmington’s most treasured and beautiful sites and the woman it memorializes, Minnie Evans. The Bottle Chapel is now available at Pomegranate Books.
